Job Description         

Position Title         Technical Sales Specialist 

Status                         Contractor

Rate                             Negotiable

Location                   Telecommute (40% travel)

Duration                   12+ Months   


Promote and support sales efforts through interactions with potential clients via email, phone and conventions including handling and processing marketing material and RFP's within specified time frames. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities for team members.  


Skill-Set & Responsibilities 

  • Serve as contact for inbound sales calls and emails including leads generated by various marketing activities, providing timely responses to leads who have inquired about JPA technologies/services, engaging to answer technical questions, obtain qualifying information, persuasively convey marketing messaging and processing solutions and subsequent steps


  • Initiate ownership in all leads, and sales matters. Follow through on leads to achieve objectives and provide an excellent level of response not limited to problem-solving, escalating issues within Sales management team and collaborating with other departments


  • Follow policies and procedures accurately and thoroughly, summarizing, documenting and communicating all lead and customer service activities and information via data entry in company database; in timely and accurate manner to fully accommodate the volume of tasks assigned.


  • Continuously build knowledge and understanding of the company's products, technology and processes, tools and resources to support prospective customers, including basic materials and applications compatibility.


  • Attend domestic trade shows when applicable/necessary to maximize business sales objectives; up to 30% travel necessary


  • Oversee all RFP processes, submissions for clarity, appropriateness and recommend changes


  • Update sales content on company website including managing and maintaining the sales department real estate on company website


  • Coordinate and forecast sales activities for clients and prospects in effort to increase marginal profits


  • Visit client and prospective customers at their place of business when appropriate to enhance relationships with customers and ensure applicable knowledge of clients needs and requirements


  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office applications; including Web Ex, Google apps


  • Compile and maintain inter-departmental records and ensure compliance of all procedures


  • Develop and maintain sales action plans


  • Work with customers to develop optimum product design to align with sales goals and capabilities 


  • Monitor sales projections to track sales trends and increase current and new business through growth and profit evolution


  • Manage and implement competitive customer pricing including remaining abreast of market/product knowledge 


  • Maintain inter-departmental relationships, technical information and communications to be liaison for company and its customers/clients

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Business Management) or equivalent education and technical training/experience


  • Minimum 3 years sales experience or combination of technical sales background


  • MS Office proficiency 


  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills   


  • Dependable and reliable  


  • Quoting and estimating experience 


  • Comfortable working in environments consistently evolving    


  • Ability to travel /attend sales meetings
